Man...I've been buying PI shorts for as long as I've been riding a bike, which is about 15 years. I've been a loyal customer, and always the good fit and feel of my PI shorts... Well, those days are over, it seems. I have absolutely no idea what PI is doing, but literally every season, they make DRASTIC changes to their shorts, and the changes they have made over the last few years have been just terrible. I did a review of their In R Cool Pro shorts, in which I gave the product 1 star. These are only slightly less worse. It is hilarious to me that depending on the model of shorts you are buying, the fit is insanely different. Those Pro versions are incredibly tiny, and are meant to fit some kind of anorexic waif model with no genitals apparently. These are slightly bigger, but still are extremely tight in the crotchal region. It's very uncomfortable in that area! They also have a very weird fit. The inner side of the shorts come down lower than the outer side, so on my inner thigh, they are closer to my knee than the outer side of the shorts. What?! Also, they feel weird when riding. It feels like the shorts want to ride up on the top of my legs, but not anywhere else. With each pedal stroke, it feels like someone stretching my skin up toward the top of my legs. It's a very weird feeling, hard to describe. Overall, they just don't fit very well. At this point, I'm just going to keep these, and probably wear them on shorter rides only. Time to find a new brand of cycling shorts for me...oh well you treated me well for a long time PI, but your time has come. Good luck selling your ill-fitting crotch busting shorts!Love these shorts! They fit well, are very well constructed, and are LONG ENOUGH. The (fake) chamois is very comfortable. I'm a tall woman who can't stand women's cycling shorts because they're ridiculously short. These PI's are awesome. I'd rate them 4.5 stars, with just .5 taken off because the edges of the chamois (or perhaps it's the stitching?) have one or two spots that feel a trifle "poke-y"--- you know, the feeling that some edge or prickly, splinter-y thing is poking your skin. I don't feel it all the time, only occasionally. It's just that the short is so excellent overall that it's a little disappointing that it has this one minor flaw. I only notice it once in a while on my inner thigh, depending upon how my leg moves.I used to love Castelli shorts, but their quality has plummeted in recent years. I'm glad that PI has managed to keep their quality high. I definitely recommend these shorts. (Although I can't stand PI's arm warmers--- durned things absolutely do NOT stay up!)I ordered these shorts and was very confused by how different they were from what I had bought at least three times in local bike stores having the same description. Upon careful reading on the back of the tag it is a Pearl Izumi Men's Elite Inrcool Tri Short. "TRI" - made for tri-athletes who swim, bike and run in the same event and I believe the shorts are made to wear for all three activities. They're very light weight and the pad is very thin and small and looks like it would be fine for swimming in and then quickly drying as one ran off in it. I verified this at my local bike shop who carries a few of this exact short at $85 versus $110 for the normal bicycle version. Alas I'm a long distance or at least long hours, day tourer and the pad in these shorts appears totally inadequate for that sort of cycling. I have returned the two pairs I ordered. I think the real problem lies with Pearl Izumi's nearly identical description of very different items.Good pair of shorts wanted the bib shorts as I'm a bit of a bigger rider 6 ft 220 lbs the extra large is a good fit but only problem they tend to have is the roll up somewhat at the waist nothing to bad but not as good as the bibs but they were out of stock and I have many bib sets so went for the regular shorts they seam to be good quality and stay confortable for the first 80 miles but trying to finish a century ride and they tend to be a little uncontable but none the less bearableI'm usually not one to provide feedback, so this will be short. I was very surprised with these shorts. When I opened the package, it looked shorter than what I was expecting, but once I tried it, they fit perfectly and actually go all the way down, just above the knees. The material is really top quality, and these shorts are more on the compression side, so they are snug. I'm giving it 4 stars for now as I have not actually been on a ride yet. Will update my stars after that, but so far, looks and feels like a top quality product1/15/2015 - so I tried the shorts, and they're very comfortable. At first I thought the chamois wasn't going to be, since it's not as padded as another shorts I have, but it's firmer and my 1 hr trainer ride was comfortable. I really have no qualms at the moment, so I'm giving it 5 stars. Great product!Every other year I find my previous cycling shorts start to loose their bounce and cushioning somewhat and I buy a new pair. Izumi has consistently been my go to brand because I feel the updates they do to the material, and/or fit always serve me better on rides. The cut is just right. No lose material, and no tightness really anywhere. The cushioning is very supportive for long rides on the road bike. You do get hot and sweaty down there, but sitting up will introduce some air circulation, so unless you bike in hot humid conditions a lot, this isn't a huge problem for me. They hardly ride up my thigh. Feels like a second skin and just about perfect when I'm on the seat pedaling away.Have had one favorite pair of riding shorts (Pearl Izumi Attack or something) for like 6 years and have loved them. The fabric is thin enough to be cool but not so thin that it's no longer "family friendly".These shorts are just like my old ones but better in every way.- Better and less obtrusive elastic around the legs- Cooler fabric that's still thick enough to prevent the fine details of the human anatomy from being on prominent display.- Better, more contoured fit.- Nice color accent for visibility (*wish* it was reflective)Didn't think riding shorts had a lot of space for improvement - but these are excellentBei 1,69 m, 66 kg war die Gr.
