This is a long review, but hopefully detailed enough to help you.I purchased a pair of these (blue denim) shorts through a catalog a couple of years ago. They took at least 2 months to arrive -there was barely any summer left to wear them. However, they fit like a dream- a little stretchy and super comfy. They stretched throughout the day and were even a bit loose.I considered getting more since then because I liked them so much, but between the price, shipping time, and terrible return policies of this company, I never bothered.I've finally worn holes through them though, so I decided to try to find more. Here are my thoughts:1st-They're more expensive than I like to pay for shorts. I bought 1 in each color this time, so 3 for just under $100. I decided it would be worth it since I liked them so much, they fit so well, and I'd wear them all the time.2nd-The pair I already own is a size 20 and fits me a little loose. So - this time I bought the blue and black pairs in size 20. I bought the white pair in size 18 because it wasn't available in size 20 and since my 20 gets loose, this seemed to be the smart sizing choice. You can see in the pictures that my old (lighter) and new (darker) shorts are the same size. You can also see the difference between the size 18 (white) and 20 (black and blue). The black and blue appear the same, but do not fit the same.(Side note on fit - I have thick thighs and find that the cuffs on these are tight on my legs. But! The cuffs are simply folded. If you unfold them, they are loose and stretchy. This is good if you need to loosen them and bad if you want the cuff to stay in place or if the cuff is part of your desired aesthetic. The unfolded edge is sewn but freyed.)My new blue pair fits great. It is stretchy and comfortable. This is the one I am pictured wearing. You can see, it does not dig at all. Perfection! My new black pair is too tight- tight enough that I'm uncertain if I should go up 1 size or 2. The fabric is not the same as the blue pair; it doesn't stretch and is not as soft.My new white pair is also too small. It is small enough that I am confident that going up to my normal size, 20, would not be enough. It is also not stretchy. Why do they fit so differently? The fabric is not the same for all of the colors. And - if you read others' reviews here, you'll see that the sizing is a constant issue that is not being addressed. I didn't read the reviews here because I thought my experience with the pair I already own was information enough.I find inconsistent sizing within a brand to be very discouraging, but when it's inconsistent even within one style of clothing, it is especially ridiculous.3rd-This company does not offer free returns and doesn't offer exchanges at all. When I first discovered the company a couple of years ago, I was so excited to have another option for clothing. They have what look like great basics and some really fun items (as well as a bunch of things I don't care for).I purchased a variety of items from them and found the sizing to be inconsistent, so I had to return (again, no exchanges) several items. It was then that I found out I would have to pay to return my items. I received a credit for my items so that I could buy something else. So - not only did I pay to return it, but I also had to spend my money with them again and when new items also did not work... well, repeat the process. Also, side note - I got a random $20 charge from them on my credit card a year after I bought through them.So - I had no intentions to shop with them again.But- I decided it would be okay to try through Amazon, particularly since I was purchasing an item I'd already vetted and already knew worked well for me.So - informed decisions based on experiences with specific items are still not enough to choose wisely with this company, and I'll be returning 2 pairs. I'll have to pay shipping to do so.I will get my money back for the items and any taxes I paid. Yay! The return shipping is $5. So, in other words, the one pair I'm keeping may as well have been $40.WW maintains its level of awful policies here on Amazon. Amazon says I'll get a refund within 2 business days while WW says that I'll get it within 14 - AFTER they've received and inspected it.I won't buy the returned pairs in another size, because if I guess wrong, I'll face the return shipping cost again.I cannot stress enough that I find the return policies to be atrocious. I could understand if a company was doing poorly financially because they were paying so much in returns, but their inconsistent sizing has been the entire cause of any returns I've made with them. They, not I, should eat the cost of their failed business practices.4th-Shipping on my original purchase a couple years ago was months. This purchase came in about a week. Silver lining!OVERALLI LOVE my blue jean shorts. They are my go-to shorts for the summer.BUTI HATE that this company is not consistent with sizing and fabric, especially considering the price and I HATE their return policy, which results in every purchase being a risk to the customer, not because of fickle customers but because of the company's inconsistence.I MIGHT buy the blue jean version of this this pair of shorts again, but the chances are slim and I WON'T buy anything else from them.
