I have a pair of Symphony's. Mine are last seasons and have a plastic band inside the fabric in the waist to hold them up. Kind of like what bibs are for. I was expecting the same plastic band in the waist but saw none. Also there were no plastic dots on the knee material so they won't slip. Hopefully it won't be an issue. But the legs were nice and long. And I did like the bigger stretchy waist. It's kind of like yoga paints waist but holds up. I'm looking forward to trying them. One last thing: I like the material for fall and winter. My older symphony's were thinner and a mesh. I froze. I had an older pair of p. Iz. Like these with this material and used them in the cold weather. They were great. Overall: not bad.5'5", currently ~155 lbs, a curvy size 8; I ordered a Large and they fit well... If I was one size smaller, I might have tried the Medium. The wrap waistline is attractive, but doesn't stay in place if you have a belly and you move around; I end up readjusting a bit. I really like the shorter length -- gives me different options for tan lines over the course of the summer. Chamois is good for the 15- to 25-mile rides I've been on while wearing these shorts. Overall, very happy with this short and probably the one I reach for the most right now.I have a pair of the symphony cut shorts and so I decided to get these as they are longer. I got the same size as my other pair but these are somewhat smaller than my other Pearl izumi bike shorts. The V waist band seems fragile and might rip easily so I have to be careful when I put them on. Noneless, they fit (very snugly) and works excellent - just like my other 2 pairs of Pearl Izumi shorts.I love the fit of these shorts. They are longer than I like because I am petite but they can be pulled up some while cycling. These shorts are comfortable, fit great and look good. I ordered 2 more of these cycling shorts because you never know when they will be discontinue.I was worried about the sizing since many people said they run small. I ordered a medium which is the size I usually wear and they fit great.Wanted to add that I cycled 45 miles in them today and they wicked and were comfortable the entire ride. These shorts are great for short or long rides. It is hard to know what size to buy with Pearl Izumi. I sized up one from my normal size and these fit a little loose. I also ordered another pair in my regular clothing size and they were way too small. These are pretty nice, the waste is comfortable. The legs may ride up a little but not too bad. I like that the band around the leg isn't too tight like the Pearl Izumi Quest shorts. The only reason I am rating these 2 stars is that the chamois seems to be better quality than PI's $50 Pearl Izumi Women's Quest Short. However, the rest of the short is sub par. Mine smell like glue, fit like a larger small or medium in the leg and a definite small in the waist (I ordered a small), and to top it off there's bunching of material where there shouldn't be. I am just getting into cycling so I am disappointed about this purchase and I am REALLY disappointed in this purchase because unfortunately I can not return these due to needing them last minute. For reference, I am 5'3 and 115 lbs at best. The size small in the Pearl Izumi Women's Quest Short fit great. Based on the fit of this particular cut, I honestly can't recommend a size because the top fits like a completely different size than the legs. These shorts don't fit me at all. I had previous symphony shorts and they fit fine. This new model is not cut for a curvy figure. I have small waist and larger thighs and backside and the more I build muscle for climbing it just gets worse. These shorts are made for a straight body. when I got on the bike the legs scooted up and the back waist felt like it went down. Very uncomfortable. The waist is looser than the previous symphony model and the legs are shorter. I do like the absence of the elastic around the leg. If I could return them I would, but that is disgusting, I did wear them on a ride. I am 5'7 and weigh 135. I allways order size L. They fit Ok when standing still. On the bike not so good.I usually wear a small in Nike and Adidas products. I even wear a small in Canari shorts. I ordered a small and couldn't fit them past mid thigh. I checked to see if they were kid shorts thinking I had accidentally not checked. The material feels great, the padding appears to be very nice. I ordered a few sizes up and hopefully that will work. The craftsmanship seemed good enough to try the other sizes.Angenehmes Material und sicher bequem wenn man eine Nummer grösser wählt.Bei Sporthosen trage ich normal Grösse S, die ist hier definitiv zu klein.Die Polsterung ist genau richtig, eher fest und nur dort wo man sie auch braucht. Also keine Spur Windel-Feeling.
